A member of the business team, this position is focused on the sale of various naturally derived renewable specialty chemical products. This position is responsible for meeting revenue goals through prospecting, developing and expanding existing businesses and identifying opportunities in new business. Working with the technical team, the account managers work to resolve customer concerns and to identify new solutions to customer issues.
Ideally, the position is located in Elevances Corporate Headquarters and R&D facility in Woodridge, IL but may be able to be home based for candidates outside the Chicago area. Individuals living outside of the Chicago area must have access to a major transportation hub as the position requires frequent overnight travel.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Sell a broad range of naturally derived wax and related products to multiple market sectors, including candles, personal care, industrial coatings, adhesives and emulsions focusing on developing and growing the existing business into existing and new applications.
Initiate customer development efforts based on future products from bio-refinery into performance wax markets.
Assist in the development of sales strategy and execute against the strategy for defined customer base and/or territory.
Work with technical support and customer service to resolve customer complaints and problems.
Collaborate with the Market Development Team new business opportunities.
Communicate effectively across all functions within the company to ensure business objectives are met.
Manage pricing within defined parameters.
Manage day to day account responsibilities for portfolio of customers.
Collaborate with other Sales Team members to collectively deliver against volume and margin targets.
Stays abreast of trends and competitive conditions; communicates them regularly through the organization
Participate in trade shows or other events as appropriate.
Preparation, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Candidates Must have:
A minimum of a bachelors degree is required. Emphasis in business and/or a chemistry or chemical engineering focus is helpful; a technical degree coupled with an MBA is preferred but not required.
A minimum 5 years sales and/or business development experience in the specialty chemicals industry
Demonstrated ability to negotiate commercial/sales agreements that include complex price and/or value issues.
Proven success in prospecting, developing and closing new business.
Strong capabilities growing and maintaining a network of contacts across and within customers and prospects, across all levels from entry level to C-Suite personnel
Strong listening skills; ability to hear and capture customer unmet (and often unstated) needs and performance requirements.
Exhibit strong customer relationship management skills and experience with CRM systems and tools to document daily activities
Shown the ability to deliver consistent results, according to a sales plan
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
