Distribution Supervisor
Summary of Position:
Distribution Supervisor will instruct, guide, and coach a group of associates responsible for one or more distribution functions (receiving, item verification, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping) to ensure highly accurate and efficient order fulfillment in a safe work environment.
The individual in this role will manage their team's performance by clearly setting expectations, communicating results in accordance with departmental standards, and providing constructive feedback frequently.
This position will oversee staff to maximize operational capabilities and will help lead change by participating on project teams that collectively solve business problems and drive continuous improvement.
This role will understand the basics of Follett's business and its customer base and will collaborate frequently with departments such as Customer Service and IT to make sure customer order expectations are met or exceeded.
Responsibilities:
o Assign work, oversee processes, monitor progress, and address problem areas with timely follow-up.
o Evaluate performance relative to work standards for accuracy and productivity; provide feedback, coach and address any persistent performance issues.
o Lead by example and make certain associates conduct their work with care in a clean and safe environment.
o Solicit suggestions and feedback from associates regularly to gain ideas and implement improvements.
Job Requirements o Bachelor's degree or equivalent in relevant field o 3-5 years experience in manufacturing/distribution or other warehouse environmento Experience in a lead/supervisory levelo Proficient with computer systems and related softwareo Ability to motivate, mentor, coach and influence peopleo Effectively communicates upwardly and laterally on all essential matterso Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skillso May be required to work evening and/or weekend shifts during peak periods.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
